Description:
Polymer modified bitumen rubber-based, two-component, high elastic, thick waterproofing material.
Reference standards: EN 15
Advantages:
- Easy and fast application consistency
- Quick drying feature for resistance to rain in a short time
- High dry residue rate
- Ability to be applied on all mineral surfaces
- Prevention of creating a deficient insulation layer
- Excellent adhesion to the surface
- Environmentally friendly, solvent-free, and asbestos-free content.
Usage areas:
Used as a waterproofing material against the foundation, curtain walls, wet spaces, balconies, and terraces of buildings, retaining walls, floor moisture, leakage water, temporary and continuous water pressure.
- The surface should be free from any residues that could prevent adhesion, such as mold release oil, cement residues, loose particles, and should be clean, smooth, sound and not exposed to frost.
- Internal corners should be rounded using CORION REPAIR FIX 03 series structural repair mortars, while external corners should be shaved using mechanical methods.
- The surface should be primed with a mixture of 1/10 (CORION BITUMFLEX 2K 1002 bitumen component/water) thinned CORION BITUMFLEX 2K 1002 bitumen component.
- For very porous, rough or porous surfaces, a trowel application of CORION BITUMFLEX 2K 1002 should be made to prevent air bubbles from forming and/or to level the surface.
- Surface voids deeper than 5mm should be leveled using CORION REPAIR FIX 03 series structural repair mortars.
Application Conditions:
Ambient temperature between +5°C and +35°C.
Application should not be carried out in extremely hot weather conditions.
Application should not be carried out on frozen or surfaces at risk of freezing.
The total application thickness should be determined according to the area where the application is made and the water pressure that the insulation layer will be exposed to.
In areas exposed to temporary water pressure, after the first layer of CORION BITUMFLEX 1K 1001 application, alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh reinforcement should be placed on the entire surface to provide a 4 mm application thickness, and the second layer of Acrobitüm 100 should be applied to completely cover the mesh.
Application:
•After the primer coat has dried, CORION BITUMFLEX 1K 1001 should be applied to the entire surface with a brush, trowel or spray gun in at least 2 coats without thinning.
•The second coat application should be carried out after the first coat has completely dried.
•The total application thickness should be determined according to the area of application and the water pressure that the insulation layer will be exposed to. In areas where there is temporary water pressure, after the first coat of CORION BITUMFLEX 2K 1002 application, an alkali-resistant fiberglass reinforcement mesh should be placed on the entire surface to ensure a 4mm application thickness, and the second coat of acrobitüm 100 should be applied to completely cover the mesh.
Application Tools:
Hand mixer, brush, trowel
Consumption:
. Use appropriate safety equipment (mask, gloves, goggles).
. Protect your eyes and face.
.In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
. For detailed safety information, please read the Material Safety Data Sheet.
- • Do not apply on metal surfaces.
• The mixture should only be made with the liquid and powder components of the product, and water should not be added under any circumstances.
• Foreign materials should not be added. Expansion joints on application surfaces should not be sealed with CORION BITUMFLEX 2K 1002, and continuity of insulation at these points should be ensured with expansion joint insulation tapes.
• Surfaces where CORION BITUMFLEX 2K 1002 has been applied should be protected against freezing for at least 3 days; since it is not a UV-resistant material, it should be covered with an appropriate material after the drying period.
• Soil filling should not be applied on foundation walls where CORION BITUMFLEX 2K 1002 has been applied before protection is applied.
• The concrete surface to be applied in areas exposed to continuous water pressure must comply with the requirements of TS EN 206.
• CORION BITUMFLEX 2K 1002 application on the terrace should be solved with a reverse roof detail (insulation layer application on top of the waterproofing layer). In addition, the slab concrete must have a minimum thickness of 12 cm, be sound, and have a smooth surface with a slope of 2%.
• All tools used after application should be washed with water before they dry. Dried residues should be cleaned with thinner.
