Description:
A bitumen-polyurethane based, two-component, super elastic waterproofing product.
Reference standards:
CE
Advantages:
• High performance in wide terraces and deep foundations
• Forms a seamless, super elastic waterproofing layer
• Easy application, solves complex details easily
• Maintains mechanical properties even in harsh weather conditions
• High resistance to waterlogging and freezing
• Resistant to detergents, oils, seawater, and domestic chemicals
Usage Area:
Used as a waterproofing material against non-pressurized and pressurized water in foundations, curtain walls, terrace roofs, balconies, parking lots, and upper parts of bridges and similar areas in all buildings. It is also used as a waterproofing material in wet volume insulation, in areas where plant root resistance is required, and in repairs of old waterproofing coatings.
• The surface must be clean, dry, smooth, and sound.
• Significant surface irregularities and holes should be repaired with CORION REPAIR FIX 03 group repair mortars at least 24 hours prior to the CORION BITUPOL 2K 5003 application.
• Expansion joints on the application surfaces should not be sealed with CORION BITUPOL 2K 5003, and expansion joint insulation tapes should be used for continuity of insulation at these points.
• Vertical and horizontal corners should be chamfered with CORION REPAIR FIX 03 group repair mortars to ensure continuity of sealing.
• Absorbent surfaces such as cement-based and wood, and surfaces with acrylic coatings, old ceramics, bitumen, glass, and metal should be primed with CORION EPO FLOOR PRIMER 5800 epoxy primer.
Application conditions:
• Ambient temperature should be between +5°C and +35°C.
• Application should not be done in very hot weather.
• Should not be applied on frozen or surfaces in danger of freezing.
Application:
• Before application, CORION BITUPOL 2K 5003 should be thoroughly mixed and applied to the primed surface using a brush, roller, or spray. If the application area is horizontal, the product can be applied with a roller or brush by pouring it onto the surface.
• Thin cracks, joints, corners, and edges should be supported with felt tapes after the first coat application. In terrace roof and similar applications, felt tape application should be made to the entire surface after the first coat application.
• The application should be at least 2 coats, and a waiting period of at least 12 hours should be observed between coats (the waiting period should not exceed 36 hours).
• It should not be applied to surfaces with a moisture content of more than 5%.
• It should not be applied to fresh concrete surfaces.
Application tools:
Brush, roller, spray
Consumption:
1.5-2.0 kg/m2 (for 2 or 3 coats application)
• Use appropriate safety equipment (mask, gloves, goggles).
• Protect your eyes and face.
• Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
• If it comes into contact with eyes, immediately rinse with plenty of water and seek advice from a specialist.
• Read the Material Safety Data Sheet for detailed safety information.
• The surface moisture level should not exceed 5% before application.
• Primer application must be done prior to application.
• The product must be kept away from sources of ignition and should not be smoked near.
• During application, gloves and goggles must be worn, and contact with eyes and skin should be avoided. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical attention immediately.
